Johann Ludwig Krebs (1713 - 1780) był muzykiem i kompozytorem okresu baroku. Komponował głównie utwory organowe. ''Orgelwerke'' to dwutomowy cykl zawierający różne utwory organowe. Prezentowany tom drugi zawiera w szczególności cenione kompozycje Krebsa - Preludia i Fugi. Preludium i fuga D-dur, a-moll i C-dur to wybitne kompozycje, każde w innym stylu. Oprócz tego zeszyt zawiera słynną fugę B-dur Krebsa na temat: B-A-C-H. It is for that reasont that the main part of this volume is devoted to three large-scale preludes and fugues in D major, A Minor and C Minor not published by Zöllner, the D Major work appearing for the first time in print. In order to convey some impression of Krebs' heritage of lesser works - preludes, fantasias and fugues- three additional compositions have been incorporated in this edition, each differing from the other in form and style. Mało kompozytorów wywarło potężniejszy wpływ na następne pokolenie muzyków niż Otto Luening (1900 - 1966). Ten amerykański kompozytor niemieckiego pochodzenia znany jest przede wszystkim z twórczości muzyki elektronicznej. Razem z Vladimirem Ussachevskym założył jedno z pierwszych studiów muzyki elektronicznej w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Ponadto tworzył utwory na organy, czego przykładem jest niniejsza Fantazja. Średni czas trwania utworu: 7' Fantazja wymaga dobrego przygotowania technicznego przede wszystkim pod względem płynnego prowadzenia melodii i gry akordowej. Few composers have exerted a more potent influence on a succeeding generation than Otto Luening. Like Boulanger, Hindemith and Stravinsky, he has directed the course of countless new composers, but has, like few men in a similar position, insisted almost fanatically that they develop according to their own dictates and predispositions rather than according to any predetermined plan or process. To his colleagues Otto Luening is one of the most selfless and devoted men in the entire field of music.
