Johann Ludwig Krebs (1713 - 1780) był muzykiem i kompozytorem okresu baroku. Komponował głównie utwory organowe. ''Orgelwerke'' to dwutomowy cykl zawierający różne utwory organowe. Prezentowany tom drugi zawiera w szczególności cenione kompozycje Krebsa - Preludia i Fugi. Preludium i fuga D-dur, a-moll i C-dur to wybitne kompozycje, każde w innym stylu. Oprócz tego zeszyt zawiera słynną fugę B-dur Krebsa na temat: B-A-C-H. It is for that reasont that the main part of this volume is devoted to three large-scale preludes and fugues in D major, A Minor and C Minor not published by Zöllner, the D Major work appearing for the first time in print. In order to convey some impression of Krebs' heritage of lesser works - preludes, fantasias and fugues- three additional compositions have been incorporated in this edition, each differing from the other in form and style.
