II. A Major

Without doubt Faernando Sor is one of the most important composers for guitar in the opening years of the 19th century. He was born in 1778 in Barcelona, and in the famous Benedictine monastery at Montserrat in Catalonia he received a through groundig in singing, organ, guitar and composition. While only 17 he wrote his first opera, Telemaco en la Isla de Calipso, which was successfully performed in Barcelona. Fernando Sor left a legacy of 63 compositions for guitar, including Sonatas, Studies, sets of Variations and Fantasias. The influence of Haydn and Mozart can be clearly seen in his work, and indeed his entire output is dominated by the classical style. This aspect is perfectly demonstrated in his Fantasia in A major op. 4 no. 2, which bears witness to the elegance and mastery of Sor's composition.

Kolekcja utworów Simona Molinaro, urodzonego w 1565 roku prawdopodobnie w Genui. Molinari był siostrzeńcem kompozytora - G. B. della Gostena, z którym studiował i założył kapelę w San Lorenzo, w 1602 roku. Posadę w tej kapeli Molinaro pełnił do końca swojego życia - do 1615 roku.

Dwie Suity lutniowe opracowane na gitarę Silviusa Leopolda Weissa (12 października 1687 w Grodkowie - 16 października 1750) - wybitnego niemieckiego kompozytora i lutnisty. Tworzył we Wrocławiu, Rzymie i Dreźnie gdzie zmarł. Na początku publikacji, oprócz bibliografii i informacji wstępnych zawarto również wyjaśnienia wszelkich oznaczeń użytych w notacji muzycznej.

Fernando Sor urodził się w Barcelonie w 1778 roku. Jego kompozycje obejmują głównie utwory gitarowe, koncerty skrzypcowe, opery, balety i pieśni. Jego sympatię do utworów wokalnych można zauważyć przede wszystkim w twórczości gitarowej. W utworach gitarowych Sor zawarł bowiem bogatą polifonię.

Bobrowicz's Grandes variations op. 6 on a theme from Mozart's Don Juan aria is one of the most beautiful Polish works for guitar of the 19th century. It maches Fernando Sor's Variations brillantes op. 9 from Mozart's The Magic Flute, played on stages worldwide. Beautifully engraved, published at Piller's in lvov presumably in 1826, it is Bobrowicz's first printed work.
The piece contains a theme and six virtuoso variations contrasted in mood, tempo, expression and aesthetics. Five of them are written in the major scale, only the penultimate in the minor scale and cantilena form. It ends in a virtuoso cadenza missing in the Lvovian edition. The sixth variation - with meditative musical breathing - ends in a bravura, extraordinarily impressive finale.
The publication of Grandes variations op. 6 is based on the 19th century edition by Breitkopf and Haertel dated 1982.
