Morton Feldman (1926 - 1987) to amerykański kompozytor pochodzenia żydowskiego. Jego muzyka jest bardzo subtelna, wiele utworów utrzymanych jest bowiem w dynamice pianissimo, często niemal na progu słyszalności. We wczesnej twórczości artysta wykorzystywał elementy aleatoryzmu (wprowadzał do utworów działania losowe), późniejsze jego kompozycje posiadają kompletne partytury. "Two Pieces for Three Pianos" to kompozycja Feldmana na trzy fortepiany. Złożona jest ona z dwóch części. W obu częściach znajdują się fragmenty zanotowane bez metrum i wartości rytmicznych. Kompozytor wskazuje, że cały utwór ma być wykonywany w dynamice piano pianissimo.
