(...)Ozzy niezadowolony z bardzo niskich zarobków, postanowił zostać drobnym złodziejem. Włamywał się i kradł z niewielkich sklepów odzieżowych i prywatnych domów, jednakże prawie za każdym razem łapała go policja, ponieważ nosił rękawiczki z wyciętym materiałem na czubkach palców, przez co wszędzie zostawiał swoje odciski. Najdłużej spędził w więzieniu sześć tygodni (w roku 1967) za włamanie do prywatnego mieszkania. Właśnie wtedy samodzielnie wytatuował sobie słynny napis "Ozzy" nad kostkami palców, napis "thanks" na dłoni oraz uśmiechniętą twarz :-) na obu kolanach, aby "od rana mieć dobry humor". Po wyjściu z więzienia Ozzy postanowił nigdy więcej się tam nie znaleźć i zaprzestał kradzieży. W tym czasie najpopularniejszym zespołem byli Beatlesi, to właśnie pod wpływem ich twórczości Ozzi zadecydował, że zostanie muzykiem (...).

(...) Ozzy, zapytany pewnego razu w szkole o marzenia na przyszłość odpowiedział, że pragnie zostać... hydraulikiem. Wkrótce jego marzenie nieoczekiwanie spełniło się. Z powodu kłopotów finansowych rodziców, musiał opuścić szkołę i znaleźć pracę, aby wspomóc rodzinny budżet. Rozpoczął jako pomocnik hydraulika. Jednak nie popracował w tym charakterze zbyt długo, ponieważ został czeladnikiem w fabryce narzędzi. Następnie był rzeźnikiem. Jego praca polegała na zabijaniu 250 sztuk bydła dziennie i usuwaniu jelit owcom. Żartuje się, iż właśnie ta praca wpłynęła najbardziej na styl granej przez niego muzyki. Ozzy był jednak niezadowolony i wycieńczony tą robotą. Po dwóch latach przeniósł się do fabryki samochodów Lucasa (pracował razem z matką), gdzie zajmował się... testowaniem klaksonów w samochodach (...)
