Mary Chapin Carpenter to amerykańska wokalistka folk i country. Zanim podpisała umowę z Columbia Records, występowała w klubach muzycznych Waszyngtonu. Największy sukces odniosła w 1992 roku wydając album zatytułowany "Come On Come On", który osiągnął status czterokrotnie platynowej płyty. Ponadto Carpenter zdobyła pięć nagród Grammy.
