Niniejszy zeszyt obejmuje materiał ćwiczeniowy przeznaczony na IV i V rok nauki w szkole średniej, a więc umożliwiający osiągnięcie wysokiej już techniki gry na tym instrumencie. Materiał pogrupowany jest zgodnie z dydaktyczną zasadą systematycznego stopniowania trudności oraz przystosowany do najnowszych metod gry obojowej w zakresie artykulacji i frazowania. Przy końcu publikacji zamieszczono dodatkowo ćwiczenia odległych interwałów we wszystkich tonacjach. The present book - the third in the Selected Studies for Oboe series - comprises practice material intended for fourth - and fifth - year students music school, thus enabling the achievement of advanced techniques in playing this instruments. Just as in the previous books I have arranged thr mterial according to the didactic principle of systematic gradation of difficulty and adjusted it to the most modern methods of oboe playing in the domain of articulation and phrasing. "New Oboe Method" Alfreda Sousa zawiera ćwiczenia oraz wskazówki wykonawcze oparte o nową metodykę gry na oboju Adolfa Hinke oraz autora niniejszej publikacji. We wstępie odnaleźć można m. in. krótką historię oboju, szereg wskazówek dotyczących postury grającego, oddychania, zadęcia, ułożenia palców itp. Każdy z rozdziałów zawiera opis słowny oraz ćwiczenia dotyczące konkretnych problemów technicznych (m. in. gra staccato, legato, portato, technika podwójnego ataku, wibracja dźwięku). This oboe method presents teacher and pupil with study book based on modern instruments as well as on the musical and technical demands made on today's oboists. All basic needs for completion of his studies are presented to the pupil. Since the study of the oboe usually does not start before the student reaches his fourteenth year, reading music and an elementary knowledge of harmony are taken for granted.
