Barry Manilow - urodzony 17 czerwca 1943 w Nowym Jorku. W 1948 nagrał utwór "Happy birthay", 25 lat później zatytułowany jako "Sing It" i otwierający jego pierwszy album. Jego ojczym zapoznał go z bogatą kolekcją jazzu i swingu, a na 13 urodziny, w roku Bar-Mitzwy, otrzymał fortepian. Karierę rozpoczął w 1964 w Nowym Jorku współpracując z CBS przy aranżacji utworów.
