Reminiscences of the Cattle Country is a reminiscence of my early days on the ranch, which my father managed and where i worked after school and summers as a cowhand. In the evenings my father often played the harmonica (cowboy style) and my mother played the piano (classical style). These two diverse traditions produced in me a jazz style that was individual, and a compositional style that is an amalgam of a variety of early influences. These compositions, written in 1946, were my first pieces for piano not in the jazz idiom of the blues or popular song form. I was then a student of Darius Milhaud at Mills College in Oakland, California.

Balet fantastyczny "Kopciuszek" op. 97 Sergieja Prokofiewa powstał w latach: 1940 - 1944. Dzieło zawarte jest w trzech aktach, siedmiu obrazach. Autorem libretta napisanego według bajki Charlesa Perraulta jest Mikołaj Wołkow. Prapremiera baletu miała miejsce w Moskwie, 21 listopada 1945 roku, a premiera w Polsce - 4 grudnia 1953 w Operze Śląskiej w Bytomiu. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera dziesięć utworów z baletu w opracowaniu na fortepian solo. Są to kompozycje przeznaczone dla zaawansowanych pianistów.

Balet fantastyczny "Kopciuszek" op. 87 Sergieja Prokofiewa powstał w latach: 1940 - 1944. Dzieło zawarte jest w trzech aktach, siedmiu obrazach. Autorem libretta napisanego według bajki Charlesa Perraulta jest Mikołaj Wołkow. Prapremiera baletu miała miejsce w Moskwie, 21 listopada 1945 roku, a premiera w Polsce - 4 grudnia 1953 w Operze Śląskiej w Bytomiu. W balecie tym urzeka nie tylko bajkowa atmosfera, wyrazista choreografia i czytelne przesłanie moralne, ale przede wszystkim wspaniała muzyka, współtworząca urokliwy, baśniowy klimat. W niniejszej publikacji zawarto wyciąg fortepianowy utworów baletowych Prokofiewa.
