Koncert fortepianowy B-dur KV 456 Mozart skomponował w 1784 roku. The Piano Concerto in Bb major (KV 456) was composed in 1784 and was entered into Mozart's personal catalog of works on September 30th. Although there is no concrete proof, it appears that Mozart wrote the concerto on commission from the blind pianist Marie Theresia of Paradise. The present edition was edited in accordance with the autogrph score in State Library of the Prussian Cultural Estate, Berlin, and in comparison with a copy made in Mozart's intermediate circle as well as with the first printing. The solo piano part corresponds in every detail to the text in the original sources. The piano reduction of the orchestral accompaniament (Piano II) was adopted to the dynamics and articulation of the original score as far as possible.

Partia solisty (fortepian I) została wydana w możliwie najbliższym oryginałowi zapisie nutowym, z kolei w partii orkiestry (fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne .
