2 Cadenzas

This Concerto was written in the autumn of 1782 at Vienna and first published by Artaria & Co. in 1785. Concerning this work and two others composed at about the same time (K. 413, 415), Mozart wrote to his father on December 28, 1782: "These concertos are a happy medium between what is too easy and too difficult; they are very brilliant, pleasing to the ear, and natural, without being vapid. There are passages here and there from which connoisseurs alone can derive satisfaction, but these passages are written in such a way that the less learned cannot fail to be pleased, although without knowing why".
All the cadenzas in the present edition are by Mozart.

Koncert fortepianowy C-dur KV 246 Mozart ukończył w kwietniu 1776 roku, bezpośrednio po skomponowaniu koncertów fortepianowych B-dur (KV 238) i F-dur (KV 242). Wydanie koncertu C-dur w opracowaniu na dwa fortepiany zostało oparte wyłącznie o materiały źródłowe znajdujące się w Bibliotece Jagiellońskiej w Krakowie. Partia solisty (Fortepian I) została wydana w możliwie najbliższym oryginałowi zapisie nutowym, z kolei w partii orkiestry zaaranżowanej na fortepian (Fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne.

Podobnie jak Koncert fortepianowy Es-dur KV 488 - Koncert KV 482 Mozart skomponował dla siebie jako wykonawcy. Jest to pierwszy utwór, w którym kompozytor włączył do obsady orkiestry klarnety. Wydanie w opracowaniu na dwa fortepiany zostało oparte wyłącznie o materiały źródłowe z Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kultubesitz w Berlinie. Partia solisty (fortepian I) została wydana w możliwie najbliższym oryginałowi zapisie nutowym, z kolei w partii orkiestry (fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne .
