John Harbison - urodził się w 1938 roku w Orange, New Jersey. Wybitny kompozytor, tworzył przede wszystkim opery i formy chóralne. Gdy miał 16 lat otrzymał pierwszą nagrodę za swoją kompozycję. Studiował kierunki muzyczne na Harvard University, gdzie również śpiewał w Harvard Glee Club, a później w Princeton. Obecnie jest profesorem instytutu muzyki na Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Publikacja zawiera suitę pieśni Bożonarodzeniowych w opracowaniu na kwintet dęty - partyturę i głosy wykonawcze.
