Amerykańska grupa The Offspring została założona w 1984 roku przez Briana Hollanda (Dexter Holland) i Grega Kriesela (Greg K). Do grupy dołączali kolejno: Kevin Wasserman (Noodles), James Lilja (szybko odszedł), Ron Welty, Atom Willard. Zespół gra w stylu punk rock'a. Jego cechą charakterystyczną jest narrator występujący na płytach. Piątym, nieoficjalym członkiem grupy jest Chris Higgins.
