Exercises and Etudes for the Jazz Instrumentalist is a collection of original pieces by the master Trombonist/Composer J.J. Johnson. Designed as study material and playable by any instrument, these pieces run the gamut of the jazz experience, featuring common and uncommon time signatures and keys, and styles from ballads to funk. They are progressively graded so that both beginners and professionals will be challenged by the demands of this wonderful music. Published in both treble and bass clef editions, with text by J.J.

Though very conservative in harmonic successions and modulations, Berbiguier's Exercises cover many of the technical formulas employed in Flute Music. They are of constant use to the Flutist who wants to acquire and preserve a neat articulation, right breathing, clean and even technique.
For those who can transpose, each of these 18 Exercises can be played in 12 different tonalities. In a few instances, it will be found necessary to play octava alta or bassa two or three notes that are beyond the range of the instrument.
