"Requiem" Gabriel Fauré komponował w latach 1888-1891. Jest to jedno z najbardziej znanych jego utworów. Początkowo sądzono, iż napisał on je ku czci zmarłego ojca. "Requiem" jest jednak inspirowane śmiercią w ogóle. W 1902 r. Fauré powiedział: Oto jak widzę śmierć: jako radosne uwolnienie, raczej dążenie do szczęścia ponad grób niż bolesne doświadczenie. Prezentowana publikacja zawiera "Requiem" Fauré w opracowaniu na dwa głosy solowe (sopran i baryton lub mezzosopran), chór (SSA) oraz fortepian. Dzieło składa się z kolejnych części: Introit - Kyrie, Offertorium, Sanctus, Pie Jesu, Agnus Dei, Libera me, In Paradisum. Czas trwania: ok. 40' The vocal score for this classic work, with Latin and English text, edited and arranged for SSA and piano by Desmond Ratcliffe. The words od the English text have been adapted from the English Missal, but singers are strongly urged to use the original language.
