Zbigniew Bujarski. Orniphania - a work for cello and piano, completed in September 2001, is - after the three "Fears of Birds" - another attempt at exploiting the extremely rich material of birdsong. A long - standing fascination with this music of nature, the diversity of its genres and especially - one would like to say - the inventiveness and astonishing variations from one speciment to another of the sung motives, as if recurring but always somehow altered, stimulated me to attemp the creation of a certain tonal entitythat, without aspiring to imitate the specific birdsong of different genres (as e. g. in the case of Vivaldi or, especially, Messiaen), would give a tonal "manifestation" of bird music. cena 45,95 zł. nuty.pl | Grieg Edward Intermezzo for Violoncello and Piano eg 115 Intermezzo na Wiolonczelę i Fortepian eg 115 Intermezzo for Violoncello and Piano eg 115 Intermezzo für Violoncello und Klavier eg 115
Writing to his friend Gottfred Matthison-Hansen, on 12 December 1866, Grieg mentioned two pieces for cello and piano that he recently composed in Bergen. In all probability one of the two pieces was the present intermezzo. The brevity of the Intermezzo and its heading in the autograph manuscript suggests that it was meant to form part of a larger cycle of pieces. Apart from Sonata in a-minor op.36, however, Grieg is not known to have producedany further works for this combination of instruments.

In January, 1981, I performed with Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman, Buffy Sainte - Marie, and Native American actor Will Sampson at the Mikasookie All - Indian Arts Festival in Florida. During one of the concerts, I met and performed with Kevin Locke, a young Lakota traditional singer, hoop dancer and flute player. Kevin taught me the Honor Song for Sitting Bull, sung for over a century to celebrate the spirit of the great Lakota leader.Kevin's name appears in the score, along with that of Margot Thunderbird, a Shinnecock singer, who taught me the four - bar motif that appears in the second variation of the concerto. I mention their names here to honor native American traditions and to thank these two wonderful singers for the gift of their commitment to the traditional music of their peoples. Both melodies are well - known social songs, reflecting the deep power and beauty of the Indian Nations. Lista utworów: |
