On June 21, 2004, Chad Smith and Ian Paice joined forces to celebrate the launch of the London Drum Company. The event brought together one of today's most influential rock drummers and one of his biggest heroes. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith was on fire during the LDC launch event, and his performance here shows him in a light that few have seen before. Appearing solo as well as alongside Chad, Ian's playing here confirms his position as one of the most potent rock drummers of the last 30 years (for the likes of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Gary Moore, and others). This unique DVD also includes interviews with both Chad and Ian, a chnace to see them soundcheck before their performance and details of the kit set-ups that each used that night. Bruce Buckingham is a professional musician and teacher. He plays guitar in many styles, but his specialities are jazz, Latin, Blues and Funk. He is one of the seasoned teachers at Musicians Institute, joining the staff in 1980, teaching literally thousands of students from around the world to paly guitar at M.I. He has played and/or recorded with musicians as diverse as Helen Reddy to John Patitucci and ahs been involved in Michael Jackson's production of Sisterella. Currently he is working on his own recording project as well as more instructional books and videos for guitar.

On September 16 and 17, 2006, The Modern Drummer Festival Weekend returned to the incredible New Jersey Performing Arts Center for its most ambitious festival ever. Sixteen drummers and percussionists performed with more than twenty musicians making for one of the most exciting festival weekends in its eighteen-year history. Backstage, while these incredible performances were taking place, each artist was interviewed at a practice kit. Each in-depth interview features playing and demonstration, as well as discussion on technique, warming up, their MD Fest performance and much more.

And for the first time ever on any MD Festival, drummers interviewed drummers: Steve Smith interviewed Thomas Lang, Aaron Spears interviewed Gerald Heyward, Gerald interviewed Marvin McQuitty, etc, making for some truly historic moments.
