This is among the most widely used teaching repertoire for singers in the U.S. Over 30 songs in each book, including American and British art songs, folk song arrangements, sacred songs and a sampling of beginning songs in German, Italian, Spanish and French. There is a completely different song selection for each voice type.

This landmark series collects compelling, useful, singer-friendly arias from a distinctly American opera tradition. Each volume includes information about every opera and an aria plot note. A majority of the music in the four volumes has never before been available outside of the opera vocal scores, and some arias in the series have never been in print at all before now. Most arias are appropriate for college-level singers. Composers such as Samuel Barber, William Bolcom, Douglas Moore, Virgil Thomson and Gian Carlo Menotti are well represented. Additionally, arias are included from important works such as Regina, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Ghosts of Versailles, The Great Gatsby, Little Women and many others. Stephen Sondheim graciously agreed to adapt new aria editions of two pieces from Sweeney Todd for the series: “The Contest” in the Tenor volume and “Epiphany” in the Baritone/Bass edition.

Zbiór piosenek wywodzących się z tzw. Zarzueli - hiszpańskiego tradycyjnego teatru muzycznego łączącego w sobie elementy opery, piosenki, tańca i dramatu. Zawarte tu utwory zostały skomponowane przez największych przedstawicieli tego gatunku, między innymi przez Marquesa, Moreno Torrobę i Giméneza.

Zeszyt pierwszy "Opern - Arien" gromadzi w sobie szesnaście wybranych arii z oper Giuseppe Verdiego, w opracowaniu na głos wokalny - sopran i fortepian. Verdi to najsłynniejszy kompozytor włoskiej opery. Jego dzieła w tym gatunku są pełne wewnętrznej harmonii, niezwykle melodyjne i łatwe do zapamiętania. Wśród arii znajdujących się w prezentowanym zbiorze odnaleźć można m. in. arię Gildy z opery "Rigoletto", czy arię Lady Makbeth z opery "Mackbeth". Wszystkie arie posiadają tekst w języku włoskim oraz w języku niemieckim.

Prezentowany zbiór zawiera 19 arii pochodzących z francuskich oper. Przedstawione kompozycje pochodzą z dorobku wyłącznie francuskich kompozytorów, żyjących na przestrzeni XIX wieku, między innymi: Hectora Berlioza, Giuseppe Verdiego czy J. Masseneta. Prezentacja zawiera krótki wstęp dotyczący każdego z zawartych w niej utworów. Kompozycje zawierają teksty wyłącznie oryginalne - w języku francuskim. Arie wymagają sporych umiejętności od wykonawcy. Utwory zostały zamieszczone w kolejności chronologicznej (według daty urodzin danego kompozytora).
