This collection includes 35 Baroque keyboard pieces by Bach, Buxtehude, Couperin, Handel, Lully, Pachelbel, Purcell, Scarlatti and others, and 18 transcriptions for piano of Baroque favorites by Bach, Handel, Pachelbel, Purcell and Vivaldi. Georg Friedrich Haendel skomponował łącznie 46 oper, w tym operę "Kserkses". Dzieło powstało w Londynie w 1737 roku do libretta nieznanego autora, zawarte jest w trzech aktach. Premiera opery miała miejsce w Londynie 15 kwietnia 1738 roku, jednak została ona chłodno przyjęta przez publiczność. Obecnie jest jednak uważana za jedno z najdoskonalszych dzieł Haendla.
