She s The One

This Concerto was written in the autumn of 1782 at Vienna and first published by Artaria & Co. in 1785. Concerning this work and two others composed at about the same time (K. 413, 415), Mozart wrote to his father on December 28, 1782: "These concertos are a happy medium between what is too easy and too difficult; they are very brilliant, pleasing to the ear, and natural, without being vapid. There are passages here and there from which connoisseurs alone can derive satisfaction, but these passages are written in such a way that the less learned cannot fail to be pleased, although without knowing why".
All the cadenzas in the present edition are by Mozart.

The Garden of Eden was originally published in its solo piano version in 1974. The four rags that make up the suite - Old Adam, The Eternal Feminine, The Serpent's Kiss and Through Eden's Gates - tell the story of the Fall in ragtime.

"Two-Piano Inventions" is based upon transformations of a few thematic ideas presented at the begining of the firts movement. The composition draws upon contrasting qualities from four kinds of keyboard literature which have been particulary meaningful to this composer: the piano music of Chopin, Brahms, Debussy, and Bartok. Although "Two-Part Inventions" contains no quotations or actual simulations of specific melodic-harmonic patterns found in pieces by these four composers, this work does, at times, evokee some of the rhythmic sweep of Brahms, the embellished bittersweet singing of Chopin, the emphasis on texture and sonority of Debussy, and the percussive and repetitive elements associated with some Bartok's music.
