Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) był twórcą nowego stylu muzycznego, określonego zapożyczonym z dziedziny malarstwa, choć w istocie wywodzącym się raczej z estetyki poezji symbolistów, mianem impresjonizmu. Podłożem twórczości Debussy'ego było przeciwstawianie się późnemu romantyzmowi, a w szczególności estetyce Wagnerowskiej. Melodyka przybiera u Debussy'ego formę krótkich motywów, traci swój walor zasadniczy na rzecz harmonii. Na główny plan wysuwa się kolorystyka dźwiękowa. Prezentowana Sonata d-moll na wiolonczelę i fortepian jest to utwór wykazujący zasadnicze walory muzyki impresjonistycznej. W przypadku wiolonczeli kompozytor stosuje tu liczne pizzicato, vibrato, staccato i triole. Sonata składa się z części: I - Lent Sostenuto e molto risoluto; II - Serenada, Moderement anime; III - Finał, Anime. Of the Six Sonates pour divers instruments Claude Debussy only completed three. The present Sonate pour violoncelle et piano was the first of the late group of sonatas begun in 1915. As in the case of the sonata for flute, viola and harp and the sonata for violin, the model taken is not the dualist sonata form ov Viennese classicism but the monothematic sonata of 17th and 18th century France. Particulary the works of François Couperin had an influence on Debussy's composition. Lista utworów: |
