R 1144). Karta tytułowa oraz Introdukcja (pierwsza strona nutowa) zostały sporządzone ręką Dobrzyńskiego, pozostałe strony nutowe zostały wykonane przez kopistę. [Mariusz Pędziałek] Souvenir de Dresde Op. 47 is a piece consisting of three sections with different tempos, played attaca and preceded by a short piano introduction. Although the title may suggest music of German character, we have here a Polish work written by a Polish composer and therefore something of a rarity in the Polish oboe repertory. The present publication has been based on the manuscript copy preserved in the collections of the library of the Warsaw Musical Society (library no. R 1144). The title page and the introduction (the first page of music) were made by Dobrzyński himself, the rest - by a copyist. [Mariusz Pędziałek] Lista utworów: |

Kompozycje sakralne Wolfganga Amadeusa Mozarta obejmują 19 mszy, a wśród nich kilka dzieł należących do gatunku "Missa Brevis", czyli tzw. Mszy krótkiej. W prezentowanej książce znajduje się Missa Brevis F-dur z roku 1774. The fact is that this, Mozart's sixth Mass, represant a passing return to the pracitce of his first three, being scored only for two violins and continuo (doubtless 'cello, bass, and organ). A fuller orchestration is called for in the fourth and fifth, a well as in all the later Masses except one (K. 275). Probably there were external circumstances that accounted for these variations, but what they were in the case of the present work we do not know.

Publikacja zawiera temat przewodni z tego filmu, gdzie głosy orkiestrowe zostały zredukowane do akompaniamentu fortepianowego a głos skrzypiec został bez zmian.

The flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon Quintet, composed in 1948 on request of the Polish Composers Union, Spisak dedicated to Martha Thibault, the mother of his wife, Andrée. This piece is considered one of the best Polish wind quintets of the 20th century. It is composed of three parts: Allegro moderato, Andante and Andante-Allegro, with the last being the most developed of the three. This cheerful composition is characterized by an equal participation of instruments, transparent texture, restless and ever-chaning tone colour and expressive articulation and motion (chiefly in the first and last part). The composer contrasts blockof accords with sections in homophonic and poliphonising texture in a multi-section structure and in a relatively small space. The from of the pieces is based on a motif. Although some elements of minor and major tonality exist, their functional dependences are blurred and the role of the facter introducing order to the melody and harmony of the piece is played by ostinate structures. The Quintet was first performed 10th October 1949 in Kraków.

Dzieło posiada następujące części: I - Kyrie, II - Gloria, III - Credo, IV - Sanctus, V - Benedictus, VI - Agnus Dei. This new transcription of Byrd's Masses for three, four and five voices respectively has been prepared mainly to meet the demand for a practical choir edition. Although these masterpieces of Tudor polyphony have long been familiar through earlier transcriptions by Rimbault, Rockstro, Barclay Squire, Terry and Fellowes a few textural uncesrtainties have persisted. I have therefore used the occasion to make a definitive score by reference to the set of original part-books in the British Museum. Thus for the first time in a separate publication of these works any editorial suggestions are readily distinguishable from the original text. Byrd's own accidentals are printed in the normal position, i. e. to the left of the note affected while other accidentals, added for whatever reason, appear in small type above the note. A system of regular barring has been applied having regard to the fact that the training and equipment of the present-day choral singer bear little relation to those of his sixteenth-century counterpart. Experience has shown that any visual advantage to the rhythmic flow derived from irregular barring is diminished in practice by difficulties of counting and place-finding.

Both Te Deum and Jubilate Deo were first performed on St. Cecilia's Day 1694 in St Bride's Church, London. They were subsequently adopted for use on all the principal festal occasions, such as National Thanksgivings and provisional music meetings such as those of the Three Choirs. "Koncert fortepianowy D-dur" KV 175 Mozart skomponował w Salzburgu, w grudniu 1773 roku. Partia solisty (Fortepian I) posiada możliwie najbliższy oryginałowi zapis nutowy, z kolei w partii orkiestry zaaranżowanej na fortepian (Fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne. The D-major Piano Concerto, K. 175, was written in Salzburg in Decemcer 1773. It is thus Mozart's very first instrumental concerto, whether for piano or any other instrument (his first violin concerto, K. 207, was not composed until 1775). Up to that time Mozart, then not yet eighteen years of age, had only made concerto arrangements of works by other composers, including three concertos based on sonatas by Johann Christian Bach. In many respects K. 175 reveals the composer's valuating ambitions, particulary in the virtuoso writing for the piano, its large-scale design, and the splendid colours obtained by adding horns and trumpets. The autograph score of K. 175, extant as late as 1860, has long been lost. For this edition a reliable substitute source has been consulted. Lista utworów: |

Mozart's Piano Concerto in C major (KV 246), dated April 1776 and written for Coutess Lützow, was composed immediately after the concertos in B-flat major (KV 238) and F-major (KV 242) of that same spring. "Koncert Es-dur" na fortepian i orkiestrę Mozart skomponował w 1777 roku. Jest to ostatnie i najbardziej dojrzałe dzieło, jakie skomponował on podczas swojego pobytu w Salzburgu. Partia solisty (Fortepian I) została wydana w możliwie najbliższym oryginałowi zapisie nutowym, z kolei w partii orkiestry zaaranżowanej na fortepian (Fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne. Mozart's Piano Concerto in E-flat major (K 271), dated January 1777, is his last and most mature work in this genre written during his years in Salzburg. Composed considerably later than its three precessors K 175, 238 and 246, it forms a pinnacle in the output of the twenty-one-year-old composer. With this work Mozart attained an individual style of writing which had repercussions on his instrumental music as a whole. Its unusual formal design is no less extraordinary than the demands it places on the soloist. "Madame butterfly" to opera w trzech aktach Giacomo Pucciniego, powstała w 1904 roku. Autorami libretta są Luigi Illica oraz Giuseppe Giacosa. Tekst ten został oparty na powieści Johna Luthera Longa i dramacie Davida Belasco. Premiera pierwszej wersji opery miała miejsce 17 lutego 1904 w La Scali w Mediolanie. The year is 1900. In London for the English premiere of "Tosca", Puccini attends a performance of "Madam Butterfly", a play by David Belasco based on a story by the American writer John Luther Long. Deeply impressed by the play, it is not long before commissions his librettists, Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, who had worked with him on "La Bohéme" and "Tosca", to work up the material for a new opera. In October 1901 Puccini begins composing the opera, taking a year to do it. At the premiere of "Madama Butterfly" at "La Scala", Milan, on February 17, 1904, there is trouble in the house, evidently engineered. the authors withdraw the score and set to work on a revised version. The second act is divided into acts two and three by means of the symphonic interlude, in all 292 bars are dropped.

Wtedy to kompozytor w liście do przyjaciela pisał o rozpoczęciu pracy nad cyklem. Three Preludes - a series of miniatures for flute and soprano without text - was completed by Michał Spisak in February of 1953. Although the composition lasts only four and half minutes, its history dated back in 1950. The composer then wrote in a letter to a friend about the start of the series. The first prelude, which took two times longer than the other two is more diversified and resembles Spisak's Duetto Concertante for bassoon and viola. The two remaining preludes are very short, technically simple miniatures, clarly linked to the works of baroque composers. Despite of these differences, the preludes are linked by secific use of the soprano. It is deliberately noted in the score below the flute and the composer most often only uses a low and medium register of this voice. Lista utworów: |

Antoni Wincenty Rutkowski (ur. 1859, zm. 1886) to wybitny polski kompozytor, pianista i pedagog. Antoni Wincenty Rutkowski - composer, pianist and teacher, was born in Warsaw on 21 January 1859. The period of his activity as a composer was short, lasting barely ten years, during which period he wrote approximately thirty works; eleven of them were lost. He composed mainly instrumental works, several of which - the shorter ones - were published during his lifetime. Two trends may clearly be distinguished throughout his oeuvre. The first is represented by his early works which do not differ significantly from contemporary Polish compositional conventions, even trhough they are frequently characterized by more interesting features, especially in harmonic content. The second trend comprises compositions characterized by experimental tendencies and, for the time and conditions precailing in contemporary Poland, audacious attempts at modernization of his musical language equalling sometimes the innovations of Wagner. This trend features bold, tonal juxtapositions, and the use of dissonant chord successions, while melody of an ornamental-figurative type ceases to be the foreground musical element in favour of harmonies. The autograph of the score of the Trio in G minor for violin, cello and piano is to be found in the library of the Warsaw Music Society. The Trio in G minor consists of three movements. The first of them is in sonata form, the second in ternary form (ABA), and the third is a rondo. Lista utworów: |
