Georg Philipp Telemann (1681 - 1767) to niemiecki barokowy kompozytor. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera jego "Suitę a-moll" na flet, orkiestrę smyczkową i klawesyn (basso continuo) w opracowaniu na flet i fortepian. W wersji tej partia fortepianu łączy w sobie głosy smyczków oraz klawesynu. Partia fletu natomiast, poza oryginalnym materiałem solowym, zawiera również fragmenty tutti. Suita to instrumentalna forma cykliczna składająca się z szeregu tańców skontrastowanych pod względem metrum i tempa. W "Suicie a-moll" Telemanna odnaleźć można takie tańce, jak m. in. menuet, polonez, air, czy passepied. The original instrumentation on this Suite is for solo flute with string orchestra and harpsichord. In this version the piano combines the functions of the strings and the continuo, but the flute is called in to share some of the music with Telemann allotted orchestral tutti. By omotting the passages between square brackets, he flute part here can be used in conjunction with the orchestral material; and the piano part, marked as tutti or continuo alone, may be taken as the basis of an orchestral continuo part.
