"Rigoletto" jest operą zawartą w czterech aktach. Autorem libretta jest Francesco Maria Piave, zaś muzykę skomponiował Giuseppe Verdi. Premiera miała miejsce w Wenecji dnia 11 marca 1851, natomiast w Polsce pierwsze przedstawienie odbyło się w Warszawie w 1853 roku. When Verdi first read Victor Hugo's Le Roi s'amuse he was immediately stricken by the subject and solicited Francesco Maria Piave to create a libretto for him without delay. Niniejsza publikacja gromadzi w sobie partie trąbki pochodzące z popularnych dzieł orkiestrowych (symfonie, poematy symfoniczne) i operowych kompozytorów różnych okresów historycznych. W zbiorze odnaleźć można m. in. liczne fragmenty utworów Ryszarda Wagnera - sceny z jego dramatów muzycznych "Zygfryd", "Złoto Renu" oraz "Walkiria", partię trąbki ze słynnego "Bolera" Ravela, części z symfonii Czajkowskiego, Mahlera i Brahmsa, a także fragmenty wybitnych oper Verdiego - "Rigoletto", " Aida" oraz " Don Carlos". An orchestral musician is expected to know and to have mastered not only the solo literature of his instrument but especially the opera and concert repertoire as well. The present edition contains those passages which a musician is expected to have at his or her command before being accepted into an orchestra. Unlike the many existing "orchestral studies", this colletion focuses on the material commonly used in auditions. Książka wydana w roku 1982, zawiera trzy utwory na instrumenty klawiszowe. Sonata Concertata G-dur Severo Giussaniego na organy i klawesyn (lub fortepian) zawiera cztery części: I - Introduzione (Grave), II - Allegro, III - Andante, IV - Allegro. Sonata F-dur na duet organowy skomponowana przez Gaetano Piazza's posiada formę sonaty da chiesa (kościelna). Struktura harmoniczna bazuje na przebiegu Tonika - Dominanta - Subdominanta - Dominanta, co w rezultacie czyni utwór przejrzystym. Sonata D-dur Bonaventury Terreni na duet organowy jest formą jednoczęściową, krótką. Charakterystyczne są alteracje, synkopy i liczne triole. A close look at the compositional workmanship of the pieces for two keyboard instruments in this volume will make it clear that this is truly keyboard music which can be played as well on organs (or positive organs) as on harpsichords or pianos without falsifying its character. On the organ, a contrast in sound can be obtained by opposing the diapason chorus to the flute chorus. "Le Rossiniane" op. 119 - 121 zostały skomponowane w Rzymie około 1820 - 1821 roku i dedykowane Enrico Caetaniemu, księciu Sermontty. Prawdopodobnie zostały napisane w tym samym czasie, co potwierdza analiza strukturalna utworów, ten sam styl pełen polotu, wirtuozerii oraz rozmiary kompozycji. Kiedy porównamy pierwsze trzy Rossiniany z następnymi opusami, różnice stylistyczne staną się widoczne. Prawdopodobnie wszystkie trzy zostały jednocześnie przesłane do wiedeńskiego wydawcy Artarii, lecz ten nie opublikował ich razem. "Le Rossiniane", Opp. 119 - 121, were composed in Rome c. 1820 - 1821 and dedicated to Enrico Caetani, the prince of Sermonetta. They were probably written at the same time, a view confirmed by a strucural analysis of the compositions, the same imaginative and virtuoso style and the scale of these works. A comparison of the first three Rossiniane with the remaining ones shows visible stylistic differences. "Le Rossiniane" op. 124 było opublikowane po raz pierwszy w Mediolanie przez Ricordiego na początku 1828 roku. "Le Rossiniane", Op. 122 and 123, were first published in Vienna in 1824 by Anton Diabelli. 'Wiener Zeitung' of 9 August 1824, drew particular attention to both compositions, emphasizing the genius of the composer. This pointed to a very deliberate campaign to promote the sale of these compositions. "Le Rossiniane" Op. 124, was published for the first time by Ricordi in Milan at the beginning of 1828.
