"Slatter" to norweskie tańce ludowe w oryginale pisane na skrzypce. Grieg zebrał siedemnaście z nich i zaaranżował na fortepian solo. Melodie tych tańców cechują się wyjątkową oryginalnością - powstawały w małych górskich wioskach odciętych niemal od świata przez co są wyjątkowo świeże i "dzikie". Tytuły podane są w języku norweskim i angielskim.
