Muzyka Straussa jest komentarzem do dzieła Nietzschego. W kolejnych scenach - żywych dźwiękowych obrazach - odzwierciedla ona idee zawarte w traktacie. Wstęp poematu "Also sprach Zarathustra" - zawarty w prezentowanej publikacji - jest przedstawieniem świtu, wschodu słońca. Fragment ten został wykorzystany przez Stanleya Kubrick'a w filmie "2001: A Space Odyssey", przez co obecnie muzyka Straussa kojarzona jest przede wszystkim z energiczną ewokacją majestatu wszechświata. Niniejsza publikacja - "Also sprach Zarathustra (Opening Theme)" zawiera opracowanie początkowego fragmentu poematu Straussa na fortepian solo. Odnaleźć w niej można dwie wersje o różnym stopniu trudności (wersja właściwa i uproszczona). Strauss composed the orchestrala tone poem "Also sprach Zarathustra" on 1895-96 during a particulary productive and successful period in his life. His reputation as a major composer was growing on the strength of earlier compositions, and he was becoming well known as a conductor throughout Europe. "Also sprach Zaratustra" ("Thus spake Zarathustra") is based on the philosophical work of that name by Nietzsche, whose writing and ideas were then becoming popular in Germany. Strauss's music is a commentary on Nietzsche's work, with various ideas and scenes given vivid musical depiction. The opening section, of which present edition is an arrangement, is a magnificent portrayal of dawn. Since its use in Stanley Kubrick's film "2001: A Space Odyssey" it has taken on a new dimension for a whole generation as a music's most powerful evocation of the majesty of the universe. Hardy Schneiders (o pseudonimie Norman Tailor) urodził się w Niemczech, ale w wieku 3 lat wrócił z rodzicami do Szwajcarii. Studiował muzykę w Nechâtel i Genewie uzyskując dyplom klasy puzonu. Po krótkim czasie gry na puzonie w Orkiestrze Radia Basle rozpoczął dalsze studia pod kierunkiem Eugena Jochuma w Monachium. W kolejnych latach pracował jako pianista w różnych operach w Niemczech i Szwajcarii. W 1959 roku wyemigrował do USA, gdzie zajmował się głównie grą na fortepianie i aranżacjami muzycznymi. Po powrocie do Niemiec rozpoczął regularne aranżowanie rozmaitych kompozycji dla orkiestry radiowej. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera Koncert piccolo na saksofon barytonowy i orkiestrę dętą mieszaną. Hardy Schneiders (pseudonyme: Norman Tailor) was born of Swiss German parents in the Cayman Islands, but returned to Switzerland when he was three. He studied music in Neuchâtel and Geneva, obtaining a trombone diploma. After a short period as a trombonist in the Basle Radio Orchestra he went on to study conducting with Eugen Jochum in Munich, subsequently working as a rehearsal pianist and conductor in various opera houses in Switzerland and Germany. He emigrated to the USA in 1959 where he worked as a pianist and arranger. He then returned to Europe, where he regularly arranged music for the German radio orchestras and undertook a worldwide tour with Josephine Baker. He taught for two years at the Music Academy in Basle. He now divides his time between homes in Canada and Switzerland and works as an arranger for Marc Reift Editions. Lista utworów: |
