Steve Vai, właściwie Steven Siro Vai (ur. 6 czerwca 1960, Nowy Jork), amerykański gitarzysta i kompozytor. Jest wegetarianinem. Jeden z najwybitniejszych uczniów amerykańskiego gitarzysty Joe Satrianiego (1973-1978). Steve jest absolwentem szkoły muzycznej Berklle College of Music. Posiada własną wytwórnię płytową, a zarazem firmę wydawniczą Favored Nations. Wraz z Frankiem Zappą nagrał 6 płyt (1980-84), a po jednej płycie z zespołami Alcatrazz (1985) i Whitesnake (1989) oraz Davidem Lee Rothem (wokalistą grupy Van Halen) (1986). Pierwsze samodzielnie zrealizowane albumy Flex-Able i Flex-Able Leftovers wydane zostały w 1984 roku.
Od 1992 roku koncertuje jako artysta solowy i wydaje w tym czasie kolejne albumy oraz płyty szkoleniowe dla gitarzystów. Używa głównie gitar elektrycznych firmy Ibanez - pomógł podczas projektowania serii Ibanez JEM, które firmuje.
