Damian Stachowicz był kompozytorem i kapelmistrzem bardzo cenionym w zgromadzeniu (diecezji przemyskiej ). Zachowana twórczość Damiana Stachowicza to wyłącznie kompozycje religijne wokalne i wokalno - instrumentalne. W niniejszej publikacji zawarto koncert Veni Consolator, na głos wokalny sopranowy, clarino i basso continuo. Rękopis utworu Veni Consolator przechowywany był do czasów ostatniej wojny w zbiorach Biblioteki Narodowej w Warszawie pod sygn. 72A. Podczas wojny uległ zniszczeniu. Zachował się natomiast literalny odpis tego utworu, sporządzony przed wojną dla A. Chybińskiego. W stosunku do pierwszego wydania, dokonanego przez A. Chylińskiego w 1933 roku i reedycji z roku 1959, wydanie niniejsze różni się w kilku szczegółach. Różnice te są skutkiem przywrócenia wersji oryginalnej w wyniku porównania tych wydarzeń z kopią rękopisu.
