Niniejsze trzy Bagatele fortepianowe zostały zlecone Peterowi Liebersonowi przez Andrewa Wolfa, a po raz pierwszy wykonane przez Petera Serkina na koncercie w Szkole Muzycznej All-Newton, w listopadzie 1985 roku. Bagatele dedykowane są Peterowi Serkinowi. Średni łączny czas trwania utworów: 10'.

Bagatelles was commissioned by the late Andrew Wolf and premiered by Peter Serkin at a benefit concert for the All-Newton Music School in November, 1985. I feel grateful that I met and worked with Andy Wolf. Although my contact with him was limited to a few conversations, the meaning of this wonderful man remains very much with me. Bagatelles is dedicated to him and Peter Serkin.
There are three bagatelles in all: Proclamation; Spontaneous Songs (a group of short character pieces); and The Dance (a slighty more than three-minute waltz).

This first volume in the Classical Piano Solos series features 20 original pieces from the masters, suitable for pianists at a Grade 1 standard. This series was compiled to correlate loosely with the Modern Course method and can be used to supplement any teaching method or situation. This volume features a mix of well-known pieces, including several from Bartok's method (co-authored in 1913 with Reschofsky) and BurgmA1ller's âo Arabesque ,â? as well as lesser-known gems by composers like Melanie Bonis, Vincent d'Indy and Daniel Turk.
