Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, one of the mostoutstanding representatives of Polish Baroque music, came from Upper Silesia. He was born about 1667. The compositions included in the present edition were never printed in his lifetime, but like the rest of his output, were performed from manuscript copies. They reflect the creative trend in which the artistic guiding principles and media of palestrina's "stile antico" cross with newer ones, characteristic of the "stile moderno". The texts of which the compositions now published are based are examples of early Christian liturgical petry composed according to the principales of Latin metrical versification. The form of the works under discussion in characterized by progression in small sections, which is in turn determined by the structure of the lityrgical text and it is realized mainly by way of the motet method of chorale treatment, so popular in German sacred music of seventeen century. In the hymns the scoring is precisely defined - it consists of a four-part vocal ensemble (soprano, alto, tenor and bass), two violins and an organ, whose part was notated in the form of figured bass. The vocal parts form a compact group, nearly always accompanied by instruments. The sources of present edition are the manuscript scores prepared by A. Chybiński from the individual parts written by the composer. Since the manuscripts used by Chybiński were destroyed by fire in the National Library in Warsaw during the Second World War, the Editorial Notes refer exclusively to the copies, and not to the originals. Missa pro pace by Wojciech Kilar, surpassing by far the average level of contemporary mass compositions, could also be used liturgically, in spite of its length. Its music is profoundly sacred and seems to be one, great and complex act of prayer in its complete differentation of emotional states: deeply felt, brooding requests for mercy - in the Kyrie and Agnus Dei; love, adoration, worship - in the Gloria and Sanctus; hope and trust - in the Credo; mediation on the Mysteries of the Incarnation, Passion and Redemption and moods of fear, hope, joy and peace (Dona nobis pacem). cena 55,95 zł. nuty.pl | Fauré Gabriel Requiem for Mixed Choir and Piano Requiem na chór mieszany i fortepian Requiem for Mixed Choir and Piano
Faure was not drawn to compose a Requiem because of the death of a loved one, even though his mother had died during the early stages of composition and his father had passed away two years before. Faure's composition does not set his Reuiem to the standard liturgical text, instead adding a lyrical Pie Jesu and transcendent Paradisum, and omitting the Dies Irae and Tuba Mirum - which, for most composers, are opportunities to demonstrate the dramatic possibilities available with the choral and orchestral forces. As a result the mood of the Requiem is relatively calm and peaceful and often referred to as a lullaby of death. Lista utworów: |

Cykl "Vesperae Dominicales" Franciszka Perneckhera zawiera opracowanie sześciu psalmów: Dixit Dominus 110 (109), Confitebor 111 (110), Beatus vir 112 (111), Laudate pueri 113 (112), In exitu 114 (113), Laudate Dominum 117 (116) oraz kantyk Magnificat. Odpowiedni dobór części umożliwia wykonywanie kompozycji podczas uroczystości niedzielnych (ps. 110 - 114 i Magnificat) bądź w święto apostołów i ewangelistów, męczenników i wyznawców (ps. 110 - 113, 117 i Magnificat). W warstwie harmonicznej cykl Vesperae Dominicales nosi wyraźne znamiona stylu klasycznego. Całość kształtowana jest w oparciu o system dur - moll, z przewagą jasnych odniesień tonalnych. Beside masses and litanies, Vespers formed the core of the repertory of many cathedral, collegiate and monastery chapels. A fixed group of five psalms and the canticle Magnificat were set for varoius festivities of the liturgical year. The cycle Vesperae Dominicales by Perneckher contains settings of six psalms: Dixit Dominus 110 (109), Confitebor 111 (110), Beatus vir 112 (111), Laudate pueri 113 (112), In exitu 114 (113), Laudate Dominum 117 (116) ant the canticle Magnificat. A suitable selection of the movements makes it possible to perform the compositions during Sunday festivities (Psalms 110 - 114 and the Magnificat) or on the feasts of the Apostoles and Evangelists, Martyrs and Confessors (Psalms 110 - 113, 117 amd the Magnificat). In the musical realization of the text Perneckher adheres to the technical solutions of the day. The simultaneous presentation of two, or - more seldom - three or four psalm half-verses or verses is a fairly frequent practice, the comprehensibility of the text being considerably limited as a result. This approach is a manifestation of the new aesthetics, in which the musical factor becomes pre-eminent. In harmonic practice, the vesper cycle Vesperae Dominicales has clear features of the classical style. The whole is shaped on the basis of the major - minor system with the predominance of bright tonal references. Lista utworów: |
