The commissioning of this piece was made possible by a grant from Meet - The - Composer / Reader's Digest Commissioning Program in partnership with the National Endewment for the Arts and the Lila Wallace - Reader's Digest Fund. Stephen Covello jest amerykańskim kompozytorem zamieszkującym Central Byack w Nowym Yorku. Studia kompozycji ukończył na Uniwersytecie w Pensylwanii. Jest pedagogiem, oraz dyrygentem orkiestry szkoły muzycznej, dlatego też jego twórczość obejmuje zarówno fortepianowe utwory o charakterze pedagogicznym, jak również kompozycje orkiestralne. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera 9 utworów solowych Covello dla średnio zaawansowanych pianistów. Stephen Covello, who lives in Central Nyack, New York, received his M. A. degree in music composition from the University of Pennsylvania. He has lectured extensively on the subject of piano pedagogy and has composed several published contemporary compositions for piano students. Mr. Covello has held positions as orchestral conductor and music school director and has composed numerous works in many forms including those for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, recordings, film and television. Yehudi Wyner (ur. 1 czerwca, 1929 w Calgary, Alberta) jest amerykańskim kompozytorem, pedagogiem, pianistą i dyrygentem. Jego twórczość obejmuje różnorodne gatunki, m. in. kompozycje orkiestrowe, kameralne, jak i muzykę teatralną i utwory liturgii żydowskiej. W 2006 r. Wyner zdobył nagrodę Pulitzera. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera Fantazje fortepianowe, w tym: Trzy Krótkie Fantazje, Nowe Fantazje i Post Fantazje. Średni łączny czas trwania wszystkich utworów: 43'. The composition of Three Short Fantasies spans eight years. The first, fluently sketched in 1963, was evoked by the mysterious sonority if Stavinsky's Symphonies for Wind Instruments.
