Anton Reicha (1770 - 1836) to czeski kompozytor, flecista i teoretyk muzyki francuskiego pochodzenia. Jest on autorem oper, a także wielu dzieł instrumentalnych (m. in. skomponował liczne kwartety smyczkowe). Niniejsza publikacja zawiera "Wariacje na dwa flety" Antona Reichy. Jest to utwór w formie tematu z wariacjami. Temat w tonacji D-dur (Allegretto scherzando) jest podstawą sześciu następujących bezpośrednio po sobie wariacji. Prezentowana publikacja została wydana w oparciu o wersję kompozycji znajdującą się obecnie w Muzeum Narodowym w Pradze. Anton Reicha, born in Prague in 1770, died in Paris in 1836. He started his musical career as a flutist in the Elector's orchestra in Bonn. He became a friend of Beethoven who plyed the viola in the same orchestra. After staying three years in Paris, Reicha lived frm 1802 to 1808 in Vienna where he renewed his friedship with Beethoven. From 1809 he again lived in Paris where he became famous not only as a composer of operas and instrumental works but also as a authority on music theory. He become a teacher of composition at the Conservatoire. This edition of "Variations for Two Flutes" is based on a contemporary printing a copy which may be found in the National Museum, Prague. Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) to jeden z najsłynniejszych francuskich kompozytorów. Jego muzyka fortepianowa charakteryzuje się m. in. bogatą fakturą, oryginalną kolorystyką, oraz znacznym wpływem muzyki ludowej i orientalnej (stosuje m. in. skale perską, pentatoniczną oraz całotonową). Suitę fortepianową "Pour le piano" Debussy skomponował w latach 1894 - 1901. Składa się ona z trzech jednolitych stylistycznie i fakturalnie części: "Preludium", "Sarabandy" oraz "Toccaty". "Pour le piano" wa published by Fromont in Paris in 1901 and reprinted susequently from the same plates. In the present edition, phrasing, interpretation marks, dynamic indications etc., have been rendered consistent. The essential differences between the original edition, the later French editions identical with O. E., and this edition are those below. Oratorium "Mesjasz" Händla powstało w 1741 roku. Dzieło składa się z trzech części: cz. 1 - zapowiedź przyjścia Mesjasza; cz. 2 - opowieść o życiu, śmierci i zmartwychwstaniu Mesjasza; cz. 3 - misja zbawienia ludzkości. Oratorium to Händel skomponował w przeciągu dwóch tygodni w podziękowaniu dla Irlandczyków za ich gościnę. Kompozycja została bardzo dobrze przyjęta przez publiczność i zaliczana jest obecnie do najdoskonalszych utworów na przełomie wieków. W prezentowanym wydaniu zawarto oratorium Händla w opracowaniu na solowe głosy wokalne, chór mieszany (SATB) oraz fortepian (wyciąg fortepianowy partii orkiestry). The vocal score of this edition first appeard in 1959, followed in 1965 by the full score, subsequently issued in redeuced format as a 'study score'. Also in 1965 a related work, A Textual and Historical Companion to Handel's Messiah by the present editor was published. This includes extensive discussion of the principal manuscripts together with details of numerous secondary manusctript sources and the earliest pronted editions and a discussion of textual authority. Oratorium "Ukrzyżowanie" John Stainer skomponował w 1887 roku. Dzieło przeznaczone jest na dwa głosy solowe - tenor i bas, chór SATB i organy. Autorem libretta jest Sparrow Simpson. Sam twórca uznał oratorium za "śmieci", jednak jest ono współcześnie często wykonywane i cieszy się dużą popularnością. Premiera "Ukrzyżowania" miała miejsce w paryskim kościele, 24 lutego 1887 roku. The Crucifixion was first performed in St. Marylebone Parish Church on 24 February 1887, and published by Novello the same year. In 1915 Novello issued a 'revised edition' in which 'the only alterations made are the substitution of the word 'plead' for 'pray' on pages 34 and 39 and the insertion of a new line in the hymn on page 39. Metronomic indications of the tempi have also been placed at the head of each number'. The alteration of 'woe' to 'pain' in the last bar of page 5 is not mentioned, but is clearly a correction of an error in the rhyme scheme. The new line on page 39 avoids an alteration of metre which would have caused problems in a congregational hymn. There is no obvious verbal or theological reason for changing 'pray' to 'plead'. However, these verbal alterations may have been made by the librettist, and have been retained here, with the 1887 words as footnotes. Since Stainer died in 1901 the authority for the metronome marks in uncertain; they are given here in square brackets, as are the few dynamic markings added in 1915. Lista utworów: |

Do muzyki na ten instrument Brahms przenosił zdobycze faktury symfonicznej (np. zdwojenia interwałów, czy kontrasty rejestrów). Jego dzieła fortepianowe cechują się syntezą romantycznej ekspresji z klasyczną symetrią. Zeszyt piąty "Dzieł fortepianowych" jest wyborem różnych kompozycji Brahmsa na fortepian.
