Tom 6 "Dzieł organowych", 2-ga część Bachowskich dowolnych dzieł organowych, jest podzielona na 2 części. Część 1 zawiera Toccaty, Preludia zarówno wielosekcyjne, jak i solowe, Fantazje i Fugi będące reprezentantami dla klasycznej 2-ej części formy Preludiów i Fug pojawiających się w części 5. Druga część obecnego tomu oferuje wczesne i różne wersje dzieł zawartych w tomie 5 i po części w tomie 6. Obok nich zaś wczesne wersje, publikowane tu po raz 1-szy, preludiów i fug d (BWV 549a), e (BWV 533a), g (BWV 535 a) i a (BWV 543 a), jak również fug c, z których jedyna wersja (BWV 574a) była dotychczas znana. Volume 6 of the "Organ Works" the second volume of bach's free organ works, is divided into two parts. Part one contains the toccatas, the multisectional, as well as the individual preludes, fantasias and fugues, while those works representative of the "classical" two - part form of "prelude and fugue" appear in volume 5. The second part of the present volume offers early and variant versions of the works contained in volume 5 and in part one of volume 6, among them the early versions, published here for the first time, of the preludes and fugues in d (BWV 549a), e (BWV 533a), g (BWV 535 a) and a (BWV 543 a) as well as of the Fuge in c (BWV 574 b), of which only one variant version (BWV 574a) was known until now.
