Debussy Claude Gypsy Dance for Piano Taniec cygański na fortepian Gypsy Dance for Piano Danse bohémienne pour piano
Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) to jeden z najsłynniejszych francuskich kompozytorów. Jego muzyka fortepianowa charakteryzuje się m. in. bogatą fakturą, oryginalną kolorystyką, oraz znacznym wpływem muzyki ludowej i orientalnej (stosuje m. in. skalę perską, pentatoniczną, oraz całotonową). "Danse bohémienne" to jedna z pierwszych kompozycji instrumentalnych Debussy'ego. "Danse bohémienne" is (together with the unpublished G major Piano Trio) Debussy's first instrumental composition. Written at the age of 18, whilst Debussy was employed in Nadezha von Meck's eccentric household, it was probably conceived as a drawingroom piece, easy on the ear, easy on the fingers, yet brilliant enough to assure succes to composer and performer. As such it can hold its own among the best pieces de genre, so fashionalble during that period. It might have come from the pen of a Chabrier, a Massenet, a Delibes and is well worth becoming more widely known. Mme von Meck seems to have taken it more seriously through. On 8 September, 1880 she sent the "nice little thing" to Tchaikovsky whom she gratly admired and whom she supported generously. This edition of "Danse bohémienne" is based on Schott's.
