Piano Trio - Pierwsza część - Allegretto Fantasie - Cabaret sugeruje czego się można spodziewać. Główny temat o zabarwieniu kabaretowym wprowadzają skrzypce w takcie 3-cim, a następnie podejmuje go wiolonczela w nieco zmienionej wersji i tak obydwa instrumenty smyczkowe dialogują sobie polifonicznie na przestrzeni całego Allegretta. Po wnikliwym zapoznaniu się z pierwszą częścią Tria, odnosi się wrażenie, że kompozytorka ma dwie obsesje (w pozytywnym tego słowa znaczeniu): rytm i sztuka kontrapunktu, zaś harmonikę określić można mianem sonorystyki kontrolowanej. W drugiej części (Elegia) faktura oparta jest na bardzo ciekawej harmonii (z przewagą sonorystyki); świetna budowa utworu z piękną kulminacją w taktach 15 i 16 i do tego jakaś specyficzna nostalgia i smutek zauważalny niemalże w każdym takcie. W trzeciej części (Rondino) kolorystyka dźwiękowa odgrywa niebagatelną rolę w tym utworze (glissanda i con legno smyczków) ale widać także zamianę ról; z Tria fortepianowego zespół przeistacza się w jazzowe combo! The main theme with a hint a of cabaret - style is introduce by the violin in the 3rd measure, and then picked up by the cello in a slightly modified version and so both string instruments conduct a polyphonic dialogue throughout the whole Allegretto. Having aquainted ondeself thoroughly with Part One of the Trio, one gets the impression that that the composer has two obsessions (in the positive sense of the word). Rhythm and Art of Counterpoint, and i would describe Ms. Jonas' harmonic sense as Controlled Sonority. Part Two - Elegy: The texture based on very interesting harmony (predominatly sonority); construction of the piece is excellent with beautoful culmination in 15th and 16th measure, and on top of that a certain special longing and ruefulness noticeable in nearly every measure. Part Three - Rondino: The palette of sounds plays a insignificant role in this work (glissando and col legno of strings), but one also notices a transformation, the Piano Trio becomes a Jazz Combo!
