Wilhelm von Grunelius urodził się w Hidelbergu, w Niemczech. Pobierał lekcje fortepianu i fletu, a mając 15 lat dał swój pierwszy publiczny koncert fortepianowy. Studiował na wydziałach fortepianu i kompozycji w Berlinie i Hanowerze pod kierunkiem Karla Engela, Hansa Chemina - Petit, Nadii Boulanger i innych. Podróżował dając koncerty po wielu krajach Europy i Afryki. Komponował przede wszystkim utwory na głos wokalny z fortepianem lub akompaniamentem orkiestry. Jego utwory były interpretowane przez takie osoby, jak: Kurt Moll, Karl - Bernhard Sebon, Richard Duven, Wolfgang Bauer. Wilhelm von Grunelius was born in Heidelberg, Germany. He received piano and flute tuition from age and at 15 was already giving concerts as an acompanist and chamber - music pianist. He studied piano and composition in Berlin and Hanover, under Karl Engel, Hans Chemin - Petit, Nadia Boulanger and others. He has undertaken numerous concert tours in western and southern Europe, Africa and the Soviet Union. His compositions are chiefly in the field of vocal music with piano or orchestral accompaniament, including 2 songs - cycles for bass voice on poems of Georg von der Vring, and chamber music for bass and strings.
