Mike Portnoy jest amerykańskim kompozytorem, instrumentalistą i wirtuozem instrumentów perkusyjnych. Niniejszy komplet obejmuje trzy płyty DVD z materiałem dydaktycznym prezentowanym przez Portnoya. Pierwsza płyta "In the Dream" zawiera nagrania demonstracyjne utworów z albumów: "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance" i "Train of Thought and Octavarium" wraz z ich analizą wykonawczą. Płyta druga "On the Side" obejmuje m. in. szczegółowe spojrzenie Portnoy'a na twórczość zasłużonych zespołów, takich jak: Led Zeppelin, The Who i Rush, a także wizytę w domu Mike'a, w którym posiada sceny i swój cały sprzęt perkusyjny.
