Jean Deatwyler (1907 - 1994) to kompozytor pochodzący z Bazylei. Studia muzyczne odbył W Paryżu na wydziałach: kompozycji, harmonii, kontrapunktu, śpiewu gregoriańskiego i dyrygentury. W 1938 roku na stałe osiadł z rodziną w Sierre (Szkocja). Jego działalność kompozytorska miała głęboki wpływ na życie muzyczne w tamtejszym regionie. Ponadto uczył kontrapunktu i dyrygentury w Konserwatorium w Sierre. Niniejsza publikacja jest zbiorem trzech tańców: I - "Mask Dance", II - "Dance of Death" i III - Tschäggäta. Całość w opracowaniu na orkiestrę smyczkową i perkusję: krowi dzwonek, pudełko akustyczne, trójkąt, mały i średni talerz, 5 temple blocks, 4 tom tomy, werbel, bęben tenorowy.

Jean Daetwyler (1907 - 1994) born in Basle. Completed his higher musical studies (composition, harmony, counterpoint, Gregorian chant and conducting) in Paris, at the Conservatoire, the Schola Cantorum and the Ecole César Franck. His professors included Vincent d'Indy, Guy de Lioncourt, A. BBertelin, Jean de Valois, Amédée Gastoué, Charles Koechlin and Paul Le Flem. Married and father of three children, he settled in 1938 in SIerre (Valais). For more than 40 years he profoundly influenced the musical life - instrumental and vocal, sacred and profane - of his town and its region: as conductor of the Gérondine and of the Chanson du Rhône. Besides his activities as composer and director, Jean Daetwyler taught harmony and counterpoint at the Conservatory in Sion.
