Beethoven Artaria 186 and Mus. ms. autogr. (Beethoven) Grasnick 23 with compositions without instrumentation markings. Georg Kinsky proved these to be music for flute - clock. Johann Ludwig Krebs (1713 - 1780) był muzykiem i kompozytorem okresu baroku, oraz ulubionym uczniem Jana Sebastiana Bacha. Osiągał niespotykaną ówcześnie biegłość pod względem techniki gry. Komponował głównie utwory organowe. ''Orgelwerke'' to dwutomowy cykl zawierający różne utwory organowe. Niniejsza część pierwsza zawiera Toccaty, Preludia i Fugi organowe, m. in. Preludium i Fuga Fis-dur, oraz Toccata i Fuga E-dur. From the circle around J. S. Bach, Krebs, his favourite pupil, attained sufficient eminence as composer of works for the organ to justify the publication of the best of his larger organ compositions in a new edition. Johann Ludwig Krebs, born 10th October, 1713 in Buttelstedt near Weimar, studied under Bach from 1726 - 1735. In 1737 he was organist at Zwickau, in 1744 at Zeitz, in 1756 Court organist at Altenburg, where he died at the beginning of January 1780. He was a celebrated organ - player in his day, und must have developed an exceptional pedal technique, as may be judged from the great number of pedal solos in his organ works. The relationship between Bach's organ compositions and those of Krebs in unmistakable.
