''Alte Meister des Orgelspiels'' to dwu - tomowa kolekcja różnych utworów organowych, zebranych w nowym wydaniu przez Karla Straube. Celem wydania owej publikacji po raz pierwszy (blisko ćwierć wieku temu) było przyciągnięcie uwagi na niemieckich twórców muzyki organowej, żyjących przed Janem Sebastianem Bachem. Jest to zbiór zawierający dzieła niemieckich kompozytorów, posiadających wysoko rozwiniętą sztukę muzyczną i umiejętności kompozytorskie, jednak usytuawianych często daleko w tle za Bachem. It is nearly a quarter of a century since the first volume of ''Old Masters of the Organ'' was published. The aim of its publication was then to draw the attention of German organists to the masterpieces of the pre-Bach period. Thanks to the work done in musicaly history, a wide-spread interest in these early periods has been awakened, and we have witnessed with astonishment the renaissance of a highly developed musical art in centuries which we had formerly been wont to regard as primitive.
