Vinko Globokar (ur. 1934) to awangardowy kompozytor i puzonista słowiańskiego pochodzenia. Jego kompozycje przyrównuje się do stylistyki dzieł Salvatore Sciarrino oraz Helmuta Lachenmanna. Muzyka Globokara jest spontaniczna, pełna energii, niekiedy improwizowana, jest pełna niekonwencjonalnych technik instrumentalnych i kompozytorskich. Widoczne są w niej wpływy jazzu oraz "free improvisation". Prezentowana publikacja zawiera utwór "Atemstudie" Globokara na obój. Kompozycja ta powstała w 1971 roku. Wykonywana powinna być jako kontinuum, bez żadnych przerw (wskazany jest wykonawca posiadający oddech permanentny). Kompozytor wskazuje również, by podczas wykonania "Atemstudie" obój został amplifikowany, a wykonawca powinien mieć mikrofon zarówno przy instrumencie, jak i przy gardle (by wzmocnić m. in. fragmenty utworu, w których wykonawca ma jednocześnie grać i śpiewać). This study is to be played from begining to end without any interruption whatever, a continuous emission of sound being the result. While playing, breath should be inhalted through the nose. Denotes that breath is to be inhalted at the same time as the note is sung so as to avoid any break in continuity. The 12 phrases are to be played 2 minutes after the beginning. The order in which theyu are played as well as their duration is left to the player. There is to be no break between the phrases. If it is intended to give a concert rendering of "Atemstudie", the oboist is to be equipped with a throat microphone for the purpose of amplifying the vocal sounds, as well as with a contact or normal type microphone to amplify the instrument. We wstępie odnaleźć można m. in. krótką historię oboju, szereg wskazówek dotyczących postury grającego, oddychania, zadęcia, ułożenia palców itp. Każdy z rozdziałów zawiera opis słowny oraz ćwiczenia dotyczące konkretnych problemów technicznych (m. in. gra staccato, legato, portato, technika podwójnego ataku, wibracja dźwięku). This oboe method presents teacher and pupil with study book based on modern instruments as well as on the musical and technical demands made on today's oboists. All basic needs for completion of his studies are presented to the pupil. Since the study of the oboe usually does not start before the student reaches his fourteenth year, reading music and an elementary knowledge of harmony are taken for granted.
