This oboe method presents teacher and pupil with study book based on modern instruments as well as on the musical and technical demands made on today's oboists. Since the study of the oboe usually does not start before the student reaches his fourteenth year, reading music and an elementary knowledge of harmony are taken for granted. To complete the fundamental instruction it is advisable to use, in addition to this method, the separate volume of studies by the author.
