Te ostatnie należą do jego najbardziej znanych prac. ''Sonaty biblijne'' to muzyka pełna emocjonalnych stanów, głównie za przyczyną historii zaczerpniętych z biblii. Cykl ''sonat biblijnych'' składa się z 6 tomów, zawierających po 1 sonacie opartej na tekście biblijnym. Prezentowana druga sonata z tego cyklu opowiada o Dawidzie i Saulu. Informacje o królach Izraela zawierają: biblijne Księgi Samuela, 1 Księga Królewska i Księga Kronik. Sonata ma obrazować przede wszystkim wpływ muzyki Dawida (król grał na harfie) na króla Saula. Gra Dawida była swoistym lekarstwem na zmartwienia Saula. Przysłuchując się dźwiękom harfy Dawida, król zapominał o problemach.
