The cycle of pieces entitled Trois pieces caractéristiques pour piano is the work of a young student of the Warsaw Conservatory, composed - judgind by the title - in Paris, where she went in order to broaden her knowledge and skills as well as to become familiar with the musical milieu of that city and its outstanding figures... Despite the fact that this is an early - trifle, disregarded by the composer herself, we can recognise from the very first bars the unique character of the music, in which the impetus of fantasy, impertinence and coarseness intertwine with a lyrical note, concentration and pensiveness, while the full conscious references and inter-relations are the reason why - from the very beginning of her creative career - she found herself a leading figure of Polish music.
