20 Etiud Pittoresques są ostatnimi kompozycjami Soulimy Stravinskiego, które napisał przed swoją śmiercią w listopadzie 1994 roku. Czystość i klarowność stylu ukazuje niejako subtelność humoru i wybredność smaku kompozytora. O Stravinskim i Etiudach Pittoresques mówi się, że są to: człowiek i jego sztuka. 20 Etudes Pittoresques were the last pieces written by Soulima Stravinsky before his death in November of 1994. These "Etudes" reflect a cameo - like purity and clarity of style serving as a microcosm and distillation of his subtle humor, fastidious craft, and exquistie taste. The composer's first published work - the imposing Piano Sonata in Bb - represents an aesthetic of rhythmic, tonal and contrapuntal complexity, diametrically opposite from these piece.
