Johann Joachim Quantz (1697 - 1773) to niemiecki flecista, pedagog i kompozytor. Pośród jego ogromnej ilości dzieł można odnaleźć aż 286 koncertów na flet, dwoje skrzypiec, altówkę i basso continuo. Do niektórych swoich koncertów na flet i orkiestrę Quanz w części wolnej dokomponował również partie dodatkowego instrumentu solowego. Niniejsza publikacja - "Koncert na flet, fagot (ad libitum), orkiestrę smyczkową i basso continuo" Quanza w opracowaniu na flet i fortepian - jest przykładem takiej kompozycji. W drugiej części utworu, w partii fletu, odnaleźć można dodatkową partię fagotu ad libitum. Koncert posiada klasyczna formę. Składa się z trzech części: cz. I - Allegro (zakończone kadencją), cz. II - Adagietto oraz cz. III - Allegretto. Johann Joachim Quanz (1697 - 1773) was extremely productive composer who particulary contrubuted to the fund of the flute music. Besides the numerous works of chamber music with flute and some double concertos, 189 solo concertos of him have been handed down. About 120 of them were composed in Dresden, - Quanz was a member of the royal court musicians till 1741 -, but all the others appeard in Potsdam during his activity as a flute teacher and composer of chamber music at court of Frederick II. The concerto for flute, basson (ad lib.), strings and basso continuo G-dur, here presented as the first edition, appeard in 1769 as one of the few flute concertos which are supplemented by a second solo instrument in the slow movement. Mendelssohn był też założycielem konserwatorium muzycznego w Lipsku. A fine selection of the finest masterpieces by Felix Mendelssohn arranged for solo piano. Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy was born in Hamburg in 1809 into a well-to-do Jewish family. Koncert fortepianowy c-moll (KV 491) Mozart skomponował w 1786 roku. Jest to utwór o typowej, klasycznej budowie: cz. I - Allegro, cz. II -Larghetto, cz. III - Allegretto. Niniejsze wydanie kompozycji w opracowaniu na dwa fortepiany zostało oparte wyłącznie o materiały źródłowe znajdujące się w British Library w Londynie. Partia solisty (Fortepian I) została wydana w możliwie najbliższym oryginałowi zapisie nutowym, z kolei w partii orkiestry zaaranżowanej na fortepian (Fortepian II) zachowano wszelkie źródłowe oznaczenia dynamiczne i artykulacyjne. Mozart's Piano Concerto in C minor (K 491), dated 24 March 1786 in his autograph catalogue of works, ends the series of subscription concerts for the Lenten season of 1785-6. Mozart played the piece twice in short succession: first on 3 April 1786, and again at his academy of 9 April i the Burg Theatre. K 491 combines the timbral features of its two predecessors K 482 and 488 by emphasizing minor keys in its opening and closing movements and by expanding the wind band. Niniejsza publikacja zawiera pierwszą część (Vivace) z "Sonaty A-dur" na flet poprzeczny i klawesyn BWV 1032 Jana Sebastiana Bacha. Została ona wydana w oparciu o partyturę znajdującą się w Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz w Berlinie. Zamieszczony w tym manuskrypcie pełny tytuł Sonaty brzmi: "Sonata a 1 Traversa e Cembalo obligato di J. S. Bach". For our edition we were able to consult the holograph score preserved in the Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz in Berlin. This manuscript bears the following heading in Bach's hand: "Sonata a 1 Traversa e Cembalo obligato di J. S. Bach". Besides this sonata, the manuscript also contains th Concerto in C minor for two harpsichords and strings (BWV 1062) which occupies the top staves of fifteen leaves, the flute sonata being written continuously on the three staves remaining at the bottom. Although the first eight leaved have survived intact, the bottom three staves, containing the continuatuin of the firtst movement of the sonata, have been cut off the remaining six leaves.
