This method introduces the playing and improvisation techniques in the blues, boogie, ragtime, rock'n'roll, rock and rock ballad styles. Since blues is at the origin of the other styles, we explain its theoretical bases. The 12 - bar blues schema, the blues scale, the blues rhythmic and harmonic are described, and we give tips to help further improvisation. Each section begins with relevant information, and typical tricks are listed (intro, lick, bass line and ending) to enable the player to recognise the authentic sound and then reproduce it. A complete original composition ends each chapter. The numerous terms which are introduced and explained throughout the work are regrouped in the glossary at the end of this book. All the pieces and tricks are recorded on a CD, the perfect complement to this tutor.
